From the scenic coastal route via Dundrennan. When you see the Kirkcudbright sign just 500m after, look for the sign to the caravan camp site & health centre on the right. Turn right up that road and Woodlands Avenue is the 3rd road on the right. Carry on to the end of  the cul-de-sac and Chattan House is on your left.

Dhoon Bay is a popular place with locals and visitors alike. Good parking with summer toilets. 4 miles from Kirkcudbright.

Belted Galloways can be seen on the A711 near Tongland. Look out for them either side of the road.

Enjoying the view at Carlingwark loch. Castle Douglas.  Birdwatchers find many visitors to the loch and there is a pleasant walk around.

Above is Chattan House in the Autumn showing the garages for bike storage or a vintage car. The drive is open with easy access. There are steps up to the B&B level . The proprietors live on the top level. There is a balcony area to sit out and a studio to use in the summer.
